Linda's Story
Life
I am retired and live in New Mexico. I have two red Dobermans that are flyball racers and therapy dogs. As therapy dogs, they visit the VA hospital and the juvenile detention facility. I also have two cats and one rescued dog. My rescue is an 8 lb. Yorkshire Terrier. She is currently training to be a therapy dog.All the pets keep me busy. I bought an RV and enjoy traveling in it. I have made contact with some old high school friends and would enjoy hearing from even more.
School
I guess that in high school, Miss Margaret Lowrey was my greatest inspiration. I don't know if they make teachers like that any more. One of my memories is getting suspended for a week for smoking on campus. 35 years later, I finally quit! The crushes will remain my secret!
College

r high school and was an instant flop. I also attended College of St. Joseph on the Rio Grande for one semester. Then I got married and that was the end of school for awhile. I later returned to classes at West Valley College in Saratoga, CA and then went on to San Jose State University where I earned a Bachelors and a Masters in Administration of Justice.
Workplace
I worked in quite a few different places until 1970 when I started with Santa Clara County as an eligibility worker in social services. I worked my way up to Supervisor and then did a short stint in corrections at the Sheriffs Dept. I then went back to Social Services and when I finished my Bachelors, I was able to get into the Public Defenders Office as a Criminal Defense Investigator. I worked there for 12 years before I retired in 2000. Retirement is the best!
