Linda's Story

After high school, I joined the Navy to see the world and saw the southeast instead. I got out of the Navy, stayed in the south, married and had 2 kids. I lived there for 23 years and loved it... Virginia, South Carolina and finally Georgia (which was my favorite.) I bartended for over 20 years, eventually getting into law enforcement while continuing to bartend... (I told people that I was in shipping and receiving!) After my divorce, I left Georgia and moved to Washington to be close to family and I've lived here since 2003. My son has given me three grandbabies. I'm a grandma and I love it! I have a daughter who as no plans of ever having babies and that's fine with me for now! Althou...Expand for more
gh I was born and raised in Eureka, I have become southern in my heart and I really miss the south. I moved there when I was 18; it's where I became an adult, a mom, a wife, and the person I am today. I miss the Atlantic ocean and the lifestyle only found in the south. Plus, Daytona was only 90 minutes away... The only family I have still in Eureka are my cousins (the DeBeni kids); I have visited a few times since moving back to the west coast. No matter where I have traveled and lived, I still never get tired of seeing the redwoods, the Pacific ocean and Sequoia Park (RIP Bill the chimpanzee!) I do miss the old days... friends and partying at the Old Town Bar & Grill and Fat Albert's!!
