Linda's Story
Life
I attended Bishop McGuinness from 1962 to 1964. My family moved away to Riverside, California, where I finished my junior and senior years at St. Francis de Sales High School, and graduated in 1966. I certainly missed everyone in Oklahoma City especially my friends from St. Charles Boromeo and Biship McGuinness. I am now and always an Okie from Oklahoma City. I still play tennis every day with my husband of 35 years, Steve - who graduated at the all boys school, Notre Dame H.S. in Riverside. We have five children - two sons and three daughters, in that order ... and they all play sports all their lives as well. My husband graduated from St. Mary's College in California where he captained his college football and wrestling teams. I graduated from Humboldt State University and captained my college tennis team. So far three of our children have graduated from St. Mary's where two of our daughters played ten...Expand for more
nis as well. Our youngest daughter is a sophomore in high school (Fall 2005) and our other daughter will be a sophomore at St. Mary's. They also play tennis. This summer (2005) our youngest daughter, Molly Aloia, will compete in the girls 16s supernational clay court championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia. I am still an avid OU fan and always will be ... even if my husband is a Notre Dame fan... I'd love to hear from anyone in the class of '66 as I think of Bishop McGuinness with fond memories.
My years at St. Francis were great; however, it is always difficult to leave your home state. I met many good friends at St. Francis and met my husband, Steve, when we were planning our senior prom. I was the Vice President of St. Francis and Steve was the President of his school - I guess things worked out very well. All in all, those days of high school in the 1960's were fun...
