Linda's Story
I am a retired Grandma in The Northern Woods of Michigan. When the hectic pace in So Cal got to us, we got going. My husband and I were fortunate enough to sell the big house in a high flying market in 2005 and moved to Houghton Lake, Michigan. We love it here. The terms and conditions here are on God's terms and the conditions can be beautiful and can be cold; to love the outdoors and nature is to love it here. We have a boat so we fish in the spring and summer months. We also have 2 canoes and like going on a nice slow float down the rivers. Winter sports are interesting here, we have a 2 passenger snowmobil. What a thrill it is to travel through new fallen snow in a Winter Wonderland. I love it. We have friends that also enjoy the same sports, making it more interesting...Expand for more
to share the fun times together. There is ice fishing in the winter when the lake freezes over, it's not my sport but my husband and friends think it's fun.
2008 we took the trip of a lifetime to Europe we traveled France,Italy,Monaco, Venice, and Croatia where we visited our grand daughter, her mother and their family. We loved our European get away, and look forward to doing it again.
I have one son that lives in So. Cal. that I visit in the Spring, I don't care for the heat. In 1985 I married a wonderful man that had 4 children. We now have 8 grandchildren that are spread all over the world.
Life is good here in these Northern Woods of Michigan. Plenty of outdoors activities, there is one thing that Michigan promotes and that is recreation for the family. I love it.
