Linda's Story

Life After graduating from TDHS, I went to nursing school at Stuart Circle in Richmond. Since that time I have attended Blue Ridge Community College and Eastern Mennonite University. My first marriage of 6 years ended in divorce and I have been married to my wonderful husband, Doug, for 32 years. We have 4 children who are all educated and married. We have 4 beautiful, healthy grandchildren who range in age from 5 yrs. to 11 yrs. I am a Registered Nurse and I teach second year practical nursing students at Massanutten Technical Center in Harrisonburg, Virginia. My husband and I will be retiring within the next couple of years and plan to do lots of volunteer work, travel, and play with our grandchildren. I moved to the Shenandoah Valley in 1975 and it has been a wonderful place to raise children...and now a wonderful place to gro...Expand for more
w old. I would love to hear from others who went to TD and Bellwood Elem. God bless! College Well, I started out after graduation from TD by attending Stuart Circle School of Nursing. In 1976 I enrolled at Eastern Mennonite University and attended for 2 years and became pregnant.:) I finished my associate degree at Blue Ridge Community College as it was much cheaper and we had 4 children by then. I have considered completing my BS (at JMU I need only 12 credits) and I may just do that some day. In the meantime, I have enjoyed being a Registered Nurse and I feel I have been blessed with the ability to care for hundreds of sick people over the past 38 years. Now having the opportunity to teach nursing students, I have been able to impart some of my experience and knowledge to them. Nursing has truly been a blessing in my life.
