Linda's Story

Here I am 62 yrs. young and I am loving it. In my years since high school I have moved to California (SF Bay Area) with my husband and two children who are now both 41 and 40 yrs. I remarried and have a son 17 yrs. and just graduated from high school. I live in the Sacramento area. Since living in the Sacramento area, I have had the opportunity to be a contestant on the Wheel of Fortune and was the big winner of the day (1999) and I was on the Win, Lose or Draw show in 1986. I love auditioning for game shows. I have created several novelty items which includes, Montana Rice, The Winning Combination ( think Jerry Rice and Joe Montana of the SF 49ers) and San Francisco's Original Italian Donut Seeds among other things. I have done stand-up comedy in the local comedy clubs under the name Beaver Brown. I also am still designing jewelry and fashion under the name, Beaver Brown Designs. I studied Japanese and am now studying Italian. I don't speak fluently either one yet. My husband Don and I are Christians and try to live the 'good Christian' life. My husband Don is a swimming pool designer and I am employed with Starbucks (2 yrs.) I have a myspace, facebook and sell my designs on the etsy.com website under the name, Bailoutabarista and Beaverbrown. I am publisher of RAGGpublishing. RAGGpublishing is a collection of newsletters under different names and will makes its debut sometimes this summer. I never considered myself popular in high school except when I was a Freshman and people seemed to like me because Kenner Jordan was my brother. He was basketball and football star and graduated 1963. My closest friends who like me for me were, Jef Rubins, Sandra Green and Jaqui Parker. Jacqui, where are you? I have looked for yo. Jef moved to Hawaii and Sandra to New York. I would call and them and wish them Happy Birthday. I hope those who remembered me think of me as being a nice and friendly person who was a little shy. hat was soon short lived as I came out of my shell when I started designing and the newsper did a story on me a couple of times. That was during the time before I legalized my name Beaver Brown. I always wanted to be a person of note when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a little out of touch with reality. idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I love art and reading. I would do either while listening to beautiful music. The wildest thing I ever done in school was to wear a pin I made out of a grasshopper's head. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have up beat people, positive thinkers, and goal oreinted people to be able to deal with the day-to-day. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Gail Gordon and Armand (Lollipop) Wray, Pat Worrell, because They were the nicest people. The biggest surprise was when I gave birth to my son Ryan just three months shy of me being 45 years old. The teacher I would most like to see is Mary McCarthy, who was my brothers and sister's teacher, but never mone. She is probably gone but not forgotten. I learned that each child has his own personality and are to be treated indepently of each other. Embrace their differences. If I won $100 million, I'd give some to my church (more than 10% of it to CHURCH AND, then spend the rest on family, friends, Commerce High School and The Springfield Girls and Boys Club of Springfield. My current age is 62. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be too old. I was so completely wrong. Look at me. My style is very eclectic. I love dressing ethnic, classic and way out. If I get a do-over, I would be a better student and thought of college. Strive for more than what was expected of me when I was in high school. I was steered away from academics and towards home economics. I never questioned authority back then. I heard that Jeff Rubens had died in Hawaii I don't remember what year.
