Linda's Story
You won't find me on the Classmates map...apparently Melbourne, Australia is the other end of the world. I had a bit of wanderlust after high school but bounced back to OC every so often. Eventually I graduated from UCI and undertook graduate work in environmental microbiology in concert with the Imperial College of London. I married a lovely Australian man and moved to the Land Down Under 27 years ago. We have two daughters, two Golden Retrievers and two black cats. back in Orange was 2003 but keep in touch with my sister and brother and their families in So. Cal. We've had visitors here from the old neighborhood as well, although my parents never made it out. Interestingly enough, I have a number of American friends here that have been in Australia even longer than I have. I miss the people but Orange County is not like what I remember, and home is really where the heart is. Saying that, our home burned down on Oct. 29th 2011 and we've been thrust into the rental market, currently living in Ivanhoe, Victoria, Australia.
