Lisa's Story
Hello to Stanwood High School. You were directed to me because I am daughter to Lucy Blades and neice of Linda and David Blades. Sadly they are all deceased but my family and I would love to share stories with our kids if you would like to share with us. Sadly David did not have the fortune to have any kids but Linda did. Linda gave birth to a wonderful girl named Sara who now has two young boys and the most wonderful man named Travis. Travis and Sara are going to be married the 14th of June. It is just too bad that Linda will not be there (physically) to share in the festivities. Grandma Donna and Grandpa Jerry are 80ish and doing well living in Mount Vernon, Washington. Lisa's Story...After Graduation in 1984 I attended Mr. Lees Beauty School in Renton. During that time I became pregnant and had a son named Brandon who was born in 1985 and is currently 22. When Brandon was 9months old we moved to LaConner, Washington in the Beautiful Skagit Valley. I worked at my grandmothers beauty shop for a year or so but there were enough beauty shops in town that I could not make a living at it.

e just very good friends and we separated. Jim hooked up with Val Lobdell who also attended Highline (She was a freshman when I was a senior). Jim spent the rest of his life with her. Sadly Jim passed away in October of 1997.
The kids and I have done pretty well for ourselves with a little help from my family. I worked for the same restaurant in and out of 19 years.
In 2002 the kids and I moved to Burlington, Washington which is only 14 miles away from LaConner. We live right next to the Skagit river and during the winter we are on flood watch alot. I Live in a tri-level and the lowest part is my garage where everything is elevated because we have already flooded 2 times in 4 years due to rain water.
Last year I met the most wonderful man named Dave Judy and we are getting married 06-07-08 at beautiful Samish Island North-West of Burlington, WA.
I am currently a bookkeeper/handyperson for my grandparents (Blades) who winter south 4 months out of the year. I also help a 70 year old disabled lady who has become very close to me and my family.
Starting the beginning of 2009 I bacame an Ordained Minister and started a business called "That's Knot All!" where I officiate weddings, funerals and also do Renewal of Vows and commitment ceremonies. This has been something that has evolved over many years...with all of the love and loss that I have encountered in my life it seemed the right thing to do!
I would love to get in touch with some of the people that I hung out with in Highschool. It seems so long ago.
