Life
I joined the Air Force while still in High School and left for Basic Training in September 1977. My first duty station was at Holloman AFB, New Mexico where I worked in Personnel. I married in 1978 to a man who was from Vancouver, WA. I separated from the Air Force in 1980 after my first daughter, Tasha, was born and went to school full time to earn my Associate Degree at NMSU. In 1982 I moved to Vancouver, WA where my ex-husband's family lived. I joined the Oregon Air National Guard and worked at Portland Air National Guard Base until 1985. I switched to active duty guard and moved to Klamath Falls, OR where I worked as the Base Training Manager at Kingsley Field. My second daughter, Marissa, was born in September 1986. here I worked in Supply and then as the Chief, Base Education and Training Manager. I am divorced and have two daughters, Tasha, and Marissa, and a grandaughter Talia born in 2006. I went to Warner Pacific College and earned by BS in Human Development in December 2001 with the intent to go into Education. I retired as an E-8 in October 2003 after 24 years in the Air Force. I held several jobs in the Air Force, but spent most of my career in Education and Training. I am now living in Camas, WA and working for Bonneville Power Administration (Portland, OR) in the Supplemental Labor Management Office. Many of my co-workers are prior military so the job was a good fit. I love my job, enjoy spending time with my family and my dogs Willow and Coco and love to travel. I do visit my Dad and brothers and sisters every couple of years. They still live in Kentucky and Ohio. I love the Northwest and will never move back to Kentucky.
