Lisa's Story
Went to UCSB---Spanish major---married before my Jr. year---way too young---but had two awesome sons, who are now both married and have little ones. (I'm LOVING the grandma role!) One is a dr. and the other a professor.
Lived in TX for 12 years, got a masters degree at UT in Bilingual Education. Did some classroom teaching, moved back to CA in 1987, got divorced, began my current job with the Orange Co. Dept. of Education as an educational consultant. The past 7 years have also been teaching art appreciation classes at a local college part-time.
Spent 00-01 in Madrid, Spain, teaching at a private school. Finally got to use my Spa...Expand for more
nish! What a gift to be able to live in a European city as a semi-native for a year! Love to travel---have been to Denmark and Australia, and hope Italy is next on the list.
Have recently taken up dog ownership (a border collie--am I nuts??), and kayaking. Would love to retire in 5 years, and either move closer to one of my kids (Oregon or South Dakota), or to a small, rural community in CA, where the border collie can chase sheep. In my old age, would love to write a novel or a children's book, and dabble in painting.
I don't remember a lot about high school anymore---just that it was fun and carefree, in spite of the homework!
