ss guitar and do craft projects. Gardening is also at the top of my list of hobbies. My biggest surprise in life is how successful I've been in just about everything I've done. I'm not bragging cause I've done many different things. I find it easy to learn most things and to at least try some things even if it doesn't work out. It's the only way to discover if it's something I'd like to continue doing. God has blessed me with so many talents and gifts and I've finally found where I am called to serve. I work with students in 6th - 12th grades and I love it. It's hard work and takes up much of my time, but I admit it is worth it! If I could improve my home, I'd remodel the back deck and add on a a larger deck. My dream home would be large and located in Oklahoma. I've learned from my kids that it is difficult to be a parent. Parents are not handed a manual on how to raise kids when they are born. It's all totally a learning experience. Parents learn as their children grow. I've learned what an enabler is and I have been that. I've also learned to let go and let the kids stumble, fall, pick themselves up, and move on. It's hard to sit on the sidelines, but worth it if you can stay strong. I've learned to accept that I've done the best I can as a parent and that kids grow up and make their own mistakes. I know that it's okay to listen and that my advice is not always wanted. I share my home with my husband and miniature fox terrier, which I find extremely awesome. In 10 years, I hope to be retired. I'm going to get there by helping my husband meet his goals for retirement. My first job was at Crystals Pizza Palace, OKC, where I got paid minimum wage to bus tables and work in the game room. What I remember most about it is how much fun it was to work there. At the age of 15/16, life was easy, fun, and exciting. Today; however, I find many students at the age of 15/16 too busy to have fun. They actually keep calendars to fit the fun in. Which is why I love the job I do now! I get to help plan fun events, lead youth group and Sunday school, and facilitate an all girls small group. Anything I can do to help students be a kid and have fun, while encouraging them to have a stronger relationship with the Lord, is so worth being a servant of God and youth ministry! :)
