Lisa's Story

Life A lot has happened since graduating from High School. I think the two most major events in my life would have to be moving to San Diego, and changing careers! After 29 years(makes me sound old LOL) of living in San Jose, I finally got the nerve to move. Not to mention a great job offer. Its been four years since I packed up that day leaving behind my frinds and not to mention my home town. I love San Diego and I do not regret my decision at all. Since living here I now have a baby girl, my pride and joy. Her name is Belle and she is 3 years old! Oops, did I forget to mention she is a dog. She likes to think she is a...Expand for more
child, and believe me Grandma has her grandog spoiled! I moved to San Diego thinking that: if you worked for one nonprofit organization you worked for all of them. That was definitely not the case here, it was time to get out. I think that after working with children for 10 years, I finally had enough. I had hit that fork in the road that some people talk about and others never see. What next? Even though I wanted to be a slacker, that wasn't an option. I did what any "normal" person would do, I went back to school. I changed my career, and that has to be one of the best decisions I ever made besides moving to San Diego.
