Lisa's Story
I live in Dallas, Texas with my husband, David. I am currently teaching Spanish to Korean elementary school students, as well as intensive reading. I also teach ESL to Korean adults. Additionally, I am substitute teaching. I have my BA in education from UNC-CH, and taught Spanish and French for 6 years. I also have my Master of Library Science degree from North Carolina Central University. I was a public librarian for 25 years in New Orleans, Louisiana; Chandler, Arizona; Fort Worth, Texas; and Dallas, Texas. For fun, I attend a twice a month French conversation Meetup group. I also am a member of the Board of Directors of the North Texas PC Users Group. I rea...Expand for more
d extensively as well. In the past, I have lived in France for a year, and in Switzerland and in Colombia for a summer each to improve my French and Spanish fluency. I have travelled to Costa Rica, Austria, and England. I have been to Mexico four times on library related business, like attending international book fairs to buy Spanish language materials for the library. The most significant thing that I did in high school was win the Interclub Council travel scholarship. I went with the Experiment in International Living to Switzerland where I lived with a Swiss family on a dairy farm for two months. My French vastly improved, so much so that I dropped out of French V at Grimsley and took a French conversation class at UNC-G. I continue reunite with my girlfriends from Grimsley when I make to Greensboro.
