Lisa's Story
Life
My Spouse
At work, Teradyne, shortly after I started with the company.
He was a supervisor and I remember walking out of the laboratory, and him standing in the hall way - cup of coffee and cigarette in hand, leaning on the door that I'd just blindly pulled open out from behind him. He faltered backward, grinned at me, and it was love at first sight.
My Pets
Most of my friends from school probably remember Shayna... my first pet after graduating that went everywhere with me, including grocery shopping.
Sadly, Shayna died in 1992.
Since then, I've gotten two dogs. A purebred Golden Retriever named Tucker (who's name originates from a rather cute story), and a mutt shephard female named Sasha.
I have had several cats. The current object of our affection and attention is named "Hooter." So named because his face has the look of a wise old owl. His fur is soft as silk, and feels like a rabbit. He's a "family cat." He seems to love us all equally, but like all the cats in the house, he favors my husband, Lee. Then there is Kamerie, a black long haired angora. She is a little princess (or at least thinks so) and has such a witchy personality that we affectionatly refer to her as the "Little Witch".
Shasta, a grey and white domestic short haired cat, was my little hunter and a grumpy old man right up til h...Expand for more
e died in 2003. JC, which stands for "Jake's Cat" was a black and white domestic short hair who had to be the most foolish animal on the planet. He vanished soon after we moved into our new home in March 2003, sadly, we never learned what became of him.
My Kids
Jacob William is named after my father, Bill who many of my classmates knew in school. He was born 2 1/2 months premature, but is thriving today and is now 12. He was better on a computer at 8 than I was at 18 and has the best manners of any kid his age I think I've ever seen (and no, I'm not one bit biased!).
My Job
I was a Quality Manager for an Electronics Manufacturer. I often described my role, when asked what I do, as being like the shield for the company. When the customer is pissed, the company held me out as their first line of defense.
In addition to managing our customer complaints and concerns, I was responsible for our internal quality systems, ISO 9000 registration, and overall quality program for the home factory in Nashua, and our satellite operations that are located in Grenada (yep, the caribbean island) and Mexico.
I recently accepted an executive management position with an auditing firm that conducts ISO audits world wide. I am very excited at the opportunity, and looking forward to the challenge and fun that undoubtedly lies ahead.
