Lisa's Story

Well, It's Lisa; after High School, I attended college, then drove a semi-tractor trailer for several years. My husband and I started our own company and was very active in the transportation industry until 4-28-95, when my baby sister was killed by a drunk driver. We put our business on hold for a few years, then my husband and ran our trucking company for several years until he became a Teamster hauling cars. Then about 5 years ago we moved to North Carolina, along the Southern Outer Banks and lived a "dream" ! This past few months we've been moving gradually back to Indiana, but have finished finally! I must admit, the only regret I have about moving back, is that NC seemed more like home than Indiana does. I love where we have been and look forward to our future.I got to live out part of my list and dreams. But, who wouldn't want to live by the ocean? But due to some unforeseen medical conditions, sometimes we have to do what we really, in our hearts feels so wrong. I have a wonderful husband and family. I only have one child, a son; Joseph Rollings, who recently married a really sweet young lady and they have a son who will be 2 years old in August, Isaiah Joseph Matthew Rollings, making us GRANDPARENTS! YES, Kevin and I were grandparents before hitting 40! Joseph was home schooled, and graduated 2 years ahead of his class and attends college full time and works full time. I still try to keep in touch with as many friends as possible, including Lisa Condrey Chatham, who lives in Leitchfield, KY, along with Kim Werth, Bobby Moore, and Laura Smith, which the later 2 found us on myspace, under obxevinandlisa, for thos of you with a myspace account. Kevin helped to full fill my dream of living along the coastal Carolinas and helped me live part of my dreams and my "list" For that I am forever grateful and thankful. While living in NC I was diagnosed with CML leukemia , but I try to not let it stop me from fulfilling my "list of things to do" it's a great list, I just pray that I can at least mark off some of the things I want o accomplish.I am a bit limited on where I can / cannot go. I fight a constant battle everyday, but am doing well at this time. Thanks to Tastefully Simple Foods, which Kevin became a consultant so I could enjoy the foods I love without paying full price. mply order food items. (you can find it by going to tastefully simple/krollings, since we're not supposed to list a URL or email address on the sight) I am able to maintain a reasonable weight through the products and they taste WONDERFUL!. Just remember me, and my family in your prayers Since we moved back to Indiana, we bought my Aunt & Uncle's farm, Gary and Wanda Goode's farm, next to where I grew up on Hwy 62, in Jefferson County. I have really enjoyed seeing and keeping in contact with a few folks, and wish to do so more often now, after all we aren't promised tomorrow. My husband still drives a truck, A & R Transport, pulling a pneumatic tank. My son is a graphic artist designer, designs websites, along with numerous computer programming and gaming tasks. He is truly a blessing and very talented. My daughter-in-law is an Avon rep and does REALLY WELL. Kevin & I also have a home business, selling Tastefully Simple foods, KEVIN IS THE CONSULTANT (our address is NABB, IN) Order anytime, and keep in touch. That is really about it for now. I don't work any longer but having a grandchild is a full time job (without the pay...) Our other website is at myspace: obxkevinandlisa Hope to hear back from some of you.... You know it's only 2 years away until our 25th reunion, which I would LOVE to help plan. I have become really good at preparing reunions. I sure hope we can get it together in less than 2 years! Life doesn't always turn out the way you expect. What's been your biggest surprise? Mine was being a grandparent at such a "young" age ! I hope everyone remembers me as a fun loving, compassionate person, and always friendly, no matter which crowd everyone "clicked" in, I was always friendly with everyone. As far as style.... I was never as small as I am now in school, so a lot of people wouldn't recognize me (so I've been told) the similarities are there, the weight isn't. I've weighed as low as 84 lbs and have maintained 120 for over 2 years now, thanks primarily goes to eating Tastefully Simple, a lot of blueberries and following a strict cancer diet and the threats of more feeding tubes... yuk.... I've had 2 already and it was no fun... So, I try to take very good care of this body now (diet and exercise when physically possible) A lot of people are surprised when they see me now. Hope to hear from someone...take care
