Lisa's Story

Life Ah life. In my chosen profession of retail, I have traveled many states, I have met many people, and I have trained the talented, and have faced the most insane general public. It excites me every day to do my job. I love my Company. I love the HR of it. The training challenges, but most of all. I love the customers. How absurd is that? I view it as teaching everyone a little bit of technology to make their life easier. Unless they own a Dell. Then you are on your own! My love of art has been placed on the back burner for some years. I have been photographing for about 4 years and love it. There is a new challenge all its own. It is odd to me that we are at the age where "keep in touch" is the extent of our relationships. We send photos and vague emails and that’s it. I personally have not forgotten the people I met in school. How different everyone was. Different clicks. Different agendas. I spent 13 years with Katie Gill, and Jen Warthen. Jen sat at my Kindergarten table with Joe Gast and I. 13 years growing together and all we can say is "keep in touch". What ever happened to the Angie Ayers, Bridgett Sherman, Lisa Fries, Jeremy Bolden, Jennifer Reed, Keith Marichek, Tyler Ridella, TJ Somers, Sarah Trager, Stephanie Brooks, Jared Cunningham, Pam Littick, Eva Perry, Kevin Dugan, etc etc etc etc etc? I would like to know. Sure we all have our own ...Expand for more
lives, kids, families, money problems, cars breaking down, house payments, in debt to our chins in credit card bills. Does any of this sound familiar? I am sure it can not just be me. We still are those teenagers we once were. Just have a better perception of life now. I have time to write once in a while, today I share to all of you. Every person I had the pleasure of attending a Newark City School with. Cheers to you. Whew. 14 years later and we can be proud. Everyone stand up and say, "I have lived and learned from the best Newark could give us. I am proud to be EXCATLY LIKE MY MOM!" hahahahahha. Well, not all of us. Listen to yourselves when you speak to your kids. You WILL catch yourself saying, "back when I was in school, we only closed because the water pipes burst when it was 12 below 0." or better yet, "back when I was in school, you had to wait till lunch to call your boyfriend" Passing notes was an art. Carrying a walkman was COOL! And may I remind everyone of peg legged pin stripped pants? Oi! OK. How cool was it the Mr. Grinrod took his Brit Lit class into the tunnels beneath the school. We read by CANDLES! Rock on! Nowadays, I am sure it would result in some type of lawsuit. I am glad I grew up in the era that I did. I will finish with a final blow to our past. Girls, Big bangs and big hair. Boys, Speedos are still not cool. Peace to y'all!
