Lisa's Story
Gee - I think I must have lived a few life times and had a few different identities since Bayside High. Was a straight-A student there - but a bit of an enfant terrible (then, not now!) My parents divorced which gave me too much freedom; I dropped out of Juilliard and never returned to Bayside! After college, I lived in Manhattan, went to Columbia, and fancied myself a writer. Dropping out of grad school after 3 years (of fellowships and awards) I made a change of direction and became more interested in a kind of sophisticated, fashionista lifestyle. I lived for a while in SF, back to NY, then to LA -- and after my Renaissance lifestyle in LA (college teaching, editing, writing for an art mag and even acting) am back in NY, living in Manhattan. Professionally I am a magazine reporter covering arts and culture but in the recent past have done a variety of things from investigative reporting to social media content to technical writing for some well-known...Expand for more
corporations and non-profits. I am an occasional event host and brand ambassador: wrote a fashion course accredited federally and by NYS. Personally, I am still a bit a mix of things and identities with one part of me into fashion and sophistication and then there's the more socially aware, intellectual, academic achiever, literary, creative self. I am most noticeably absent (and yes unhappy about it) by lacking a love partner. That's another long story involving some nefarious characters - and my own going against the grain (a novel I read in grad school - Huysman) - i.e. being unconventional was misconstrued and somehow I inspired the obsessive wrath of some powerful people.. Right now I'd like to make new friends and reconnect with old ones and who knows, dating is not behind me. I also want to travel but the pandemic has made that difficult; hopefully that's behind all of us. I look young and I look good. The photo was taken a year or two ago.. ;
