Lisa's Story
Well, I hit the big 40 in December, that in itself seems strange but it beats the alternative. Roger and I will celebrate our 10TH wedding anniversary in July. We are planning a trip to Vegas to celebrate. Our son is now 4 so we are looking forward to some entertainment that does not involve Happy Meals and sliding boards, although I would not change those priceless moments for anything. I have a new respect for the "little" moments in life that we often ignore. I was prematurely diagnosed with breast cancer in December. y to remove a benign tumor and when I woke up I was told that it was cancer. Then, eight days later the pathology report came back with "atypical" cells but no cancer. After a four month ordeal and second and third opinions I will be fine. My point to all of this, "don't ever take anything for granted and plese get your annual check ups. We aren't 16 anymore. After that experience, my new phylosophy is "Bring it own!" The good, the bad and everything in between. I was lucky but am a much stronger person and have the upmost respect for all of those that must go through cancer treatment, it could have easily been me.
