Lisa's Story
Hi, y'all. My company transferred me to Austin, Texas six years ago. I'm a software engineer, really a database administrator, mainly. I used to work for GTECH Corporation, but have been off work for several years, fighting Lyme disease. My son also had Lyme disease, from birth, as well as Morgellons. He was very sick for many years and ended up dying two years ago, at age 23. This really took a toll on me and my health. I am getting treatment (including three years of antibiotic treatment) and am getting better, although slowly. My goal is to return to work, or at least school, within the next year. hoping to change career paths slightly and do something in the GIS world.
I do have a 23-year old daughter who moved back to Washington. She didn't miss the weather there, but did miss her family. I have a significant other here who is amazing and has been so supportive.
While working, I was able to do a lot of travel all around the U.S. and some to Europe and the Caribbean. I do love to travel!
I was so sorry to hear that we didn't have a 25-year class reunion! Isn't this the one that everyone is supposed to attend! Let's hope for a 30-year one!!!
