Lisa's Story
Life
Mike and I moved to Smithville, just east of Austin, Tx in 2002. We bought 74 acres and are building a home. Our daughter is involved with horses, play days and barrel racing. Our son is involved in baseball, plays the violin.
Mike owns his own steel construction business in Bastrop and I work for a program out of Austin that helps people who have disabilities. We are blessed to be here. We are active in the Smithville Church of Christ where the kids study and participate in Leadership Training for Christ.
College
I attened Lubbock Christian University, Odessa College, UTPB, and Texas Tech, earning a degree...Expand for more
in teaching (special education). I then went to Sul Ross university and earned my masters degree in Counseling.
Workplace
I taught in Odessa for one year. I then moved home and taught at MHS for 10 yrs. I moved and was the Jr. High counselor in Smithville for one year. I now work with assistive technology at a non-profit company out of Austin, Tx. I provide professional outreach and training for people with speech related disabilities. I progam devices and train people how to use them. Mike and I are also owners of a Steel Construction Company. I assist with the administrative portions of our construction company.
