Liz's Story
Life
My Spouse
I was married to Rick Welsh, Class of '76, for fifteen years. Divorced in '95. We met in Mrs. Andreason's Biology class at Foley High! I drew hearts on his Hi Lites and he asked me to the Valentine's Day Dance.
I am now married to Tom Byrne,Class of '78, for the past 5 years. We grew up in the Methodist Church and were friends for years. Had similar morals and values, hopes and dreams for our future! Ahhh . . .
My Kids
Rick and I had two children. Kevin is 20 and will be a junior at Troy State University in the fall. Julie is 12 and is a proud new seventh grade cheerleader at J. Larry Newton School in Fairhope.

survivor! He had his right hand amputated when he was ten. He was the Offensive Lineman of the Year his senior year at Foley High and All State Soccer! We are extremely proud of him.
Julie has a sister, Tom's daughter, who is only a week older than Julie! Their teen years will be interesting, no doubt, although she doesn't live with us fulltime.
My Job
I am a counselor at Foley Middle School. After 21 years in the school system, I have a collection of degrees and am currently an Associate Licensed Counselor working on my LPC. I will retire from the school system in four years and my plans include opening my own counseling practice in the Fairhope area.
