Lonna's Story
Gary and I moved to Hobbs, New Mexico in 1982, where we planned to stay two years. 35 years later we are still in the desert.
I retired from teaching after 42 years. Gary is retired from the oil field. We just keep busy with life.
My mother lived with us 10 years and passed away in 2003. We traveled to Tennessee every other month for over a year to care for Gary's parents.
I volunteer for a backpack program called...Expand for more
WHI Hobbs that distributes food for needy school children and am very active in my church.
Our daughter, Lee, is a nurse at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. She and her husband, Werner, have two children. Our son, Bill, lives in and works for the City of Hobbs. He and his wife, Kimberly, together have five children. We have been very blessed through the years. Gary and I will celebrate our 49th anniversary in February.
