Anita M. Lopker, M.D.:  

Since graduation from high school, I independently put myself through college and medical school and went on to Yale University where I completed my residency in Psychiatry. I discovered the psychiatric manifestations of Lyme disease in 1985, during my last year of the residency, working with the registry of patients in whom Alan Steere, M.D. had first described the infectious nature of the illness in 1975. I joined the clinical faculty at Yale, and entered private practice. I have maintained a private practice in Westport, Connecticut since 1988, specializing in Eating Disorders, and in Lyme disease.
