Loren's Story
Graduated from Milligan College, 1981. Special studies at Butler University, Indianapolis, 1981-1982 (Hebrew, Latin, French). Master of Divinity, Princeton Theological Seminary, 1982-1986. Fulbright Grant to study Semitic languages at universities of Tübingen and Heidelberg in Germany, 1986-1988. Ph.D. Princeton Theological Seminary, 1988-1992. Assistant Prof. at University of Kiel Germany, 1992-1994. Lecturer, Reader, then Full Professor at Durham University, UK 1994-2009 (Head of Department 2008-2009). Chair Professor at Princeton Theological Seminary 2009-2012 (Head of Department of Biblical Studies 2011-2012). Visiting Professor at Hebrew University spring 2009. From 2012, Chair of New Testament and Second Temple Judaism at University of Munich Germany.

Honorary professorships, Durham University UK and University of Aarhus, Denmark. Chief editor, Commentaries on Early Jewish Literature (Walter de Gruyter, Berlin); Journal for the Study of the Pseudepigrapha (since December 1992); on 20 boards of editors through the years.
Hobbies - piano; walking the dog in Bavaria!
Published four monographs (1995, 1997, 2007, 2014), 140 articles, lectures world-wide.
Married to Lois Loban Stuckenbruck (1 Sept 1984), 3 children (Daniella born Jan. 25, 1988; Johann born Jan. 5, 1991; and Nathan born Sept. 14, 1999).
