Lorenzo C.'s Story
Life
After leaving Calumet in 1972, I attended Elmhurst College.There I played football and ran track for 2 years. Graduated with a B.S. degree in 1976. Attended Southern Illinois Illinois University in C'dale for two years taking premed courses. Married my high school sweetheart in 1977 (Alecia Batey, class of 74). Applied and was accepted to med school 1977, University of Illinois. Had one son with Alicia 1978 Lorenquintin. Med school was not conducive to married life and Alecia and I were divorced after 3 years. Graduated from Med school in 1981. Met and Married Valerie Logan, Just before our 10th year high school reunion. Val and I have 2 additional children. Ayesha and Antonio. Quintin or " Q " as he is refered to by his friends, graduated from Arizona State University in 2001. He is persuing a teaching career. Ayesha Is a Freshman at Arizoan State University. Valerie is still teaching and looking toward retirement. We have been married for 20 years in 11/01.
She is one of the best things that has happened to me. She has balanced her personal career and managed to keep our family together while I was busy learning to be a doctor. After residency in OB/GYN, I was in the Air Force for 3 years. In 1989 we moved to Racine Wisconsin, after three years we decided we had enough of winters and relocated to Arizona. We have been here since 1993 and will probably be here until we both retire. We have managed to relocate both of our parents and we are awaiting the completion of our dream home. My two sisters and one brother have also relocated to the warmth of the southwest. We are working on getting Valereies sister to move here. During the winter months there is a parade of visitors from the cold climate. Life has been very good to us and its a blessing to be able to share it with Valerie, as we watch our family and Kids evolve...
