Lori's Story
Life
In High School you knew me as Lori Brown. I flew to Germany the day after I graduated in January of 1978. I went to college at the University of Maryland in Munich Germany, and Western KY, Bowling Green, Kentucky. I met my husband Mike and we were married in 1982.
We had three tours in Europe before moving to Nairobi, Kenya for three years, then to Pretoria, SOuth Africa for three years.
I never thought I'd have the opportunity to visit Africa-- I have lived on the continent for nearly 6 years. Life is an adventure if you are willing to embrace it!
Our daughter Shannon was born in Heidelberg, Germany. She graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University and married in December 2008. Our younger daughter McKenna was born in North Carolina, was with us in Pretoria, South Africa and is now finishing up High Sc...Expand for more
hool in Northern Virginia. I have been in university administration for the past 15 years with various schools. Overseas I worked for the State Department and Dept of Homeland Security- US Secret Service. Currently I work in Crysatl City for a tiny government agency as the Financial Manager.
My husband will retire from the Army in May and begin a career in the DC area. This will limit our overseas living for a bit, but we can still travel to visit the tons of friends we have around the world.
College
I majored in Beer at the University of MD in Munich. At Western KY Univ, I majored in Recreation and minored in Developmental Psych. I was a member of Phi Mu - Delta Nu Chapter. While in Germany, I completed my Master's degree in Education- Curriculum Development and Instruction with National- Louis University.
