Lori's Story

I took business classes at Fitch and got engaged my senior year to Skip. We got married Aug. 18, 1984 and are still happily married living locally here in Ledyard. We had our daughter Kristen in Nov. 1985. I worked as a secretary at a bank until my daughter was born, and then I stayed home with her and watched another child for my income. In 1991 I became a licensed home daycare provider and did that for 18 years. I made a lot of nice relationships with numerous families. After daycare, I began working in the Ledyard Public School system as a paraprofessional. I currently work at the Gales Ferry School. I love worki...Expand for more
ng with children. My daughter got married in May 2011 and I'm still anxiously waiting for grandchildren. I've never been to a class reunion because I've never known about them so I hope that next year (30th!!!) I will get the info and be able to attend. It will be nice to see you all. It's been decades! One other fact: my husband and I own our own farming business here in Ledyard. It's called D&L Burton Farm and during the summers when I'm off from school I do some farmers' markets. I do the one in Ledyard on Wednesdays and the one at the Denison in Mystic on Sundays. Any of you locals - please stop by and see me.
