Lori's Story

Life After graduating from MHS, I went to college in Southern California to study Music........but it was the 80's and when I realized how much money music teacher's made, I ran to the Business Department! I graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Business Administration. I took a job as an accoutant for Home Depot and married my "first" husband. I worked in Accounting for a couple of years and then was promoted to Loss Prevention Manager and covered Southern California. I had a beautiful baby boy in 1994, named Jeffrey, and a beautiful baby girl in 1996, named Mandy. 6 weeks after Mandy was born my first husband and I divorced. I had a toddler, a new born, a demanding Management job, and a mortgage. It was a tough time and a wonderful time. I loved my job, I LOVE MY KIDS, and I was very happy. I never thought I would marry again. I had two great kids, my own home, a great job with stock options and could have toast and M&M's for dinner if I wanted.......but then I got suckered again by Robert Keigley.....he was a single Dad and he said fabulous. We dated for a couple of years and eloped in 1999, we just celebrated our 6 year anniversary and he suprised me on my birthday with divorce papers.Apparently he no longer wants to live with a handicapped wife or pay her medical bills.....oh well..........see ya. I live in Poway,California just north of San Diego. My parents and my brother live close by and we enjoy lots of family get togethers. My best friend is still the same person who was my best friend at MHS, Sherry Pendergrass. We talk almost daily and try to see each other whenever our busy schedules a...Expand for more
llow. I worked for Home Depot for 10 years, but retired when Bob and I moved to Poway, so that I could dedicate my life to my children. I am a Girl Scout Leader, a Cub Scout Leader, a cheerleading coach, a PTA chairperson, and a chauffer to two very busy kids!! We are currently in the middle of baseball and softball season....... I'll be looking forward to the summer when the kids and I can relax in the backyard and swim and not think about schedules!! This past year has brought several challenges. I was diagnosed with degenerative disk disease and had a disk in my back rupture. I had an artificial disk put in my back, however, it did not solve the whole problem, so I have had a few other surgeries, lots of meds, and last month had a grand mal seizure and cannot drive for 12 weeks........bummer.... But I am ever optimistic that I will be back to my old self before our reunion!! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone in August. I truly cannot believe its been twenty years! I plan to stay home with the kids and work on my health for another two years, then I think I would like to go back to school and get my teaching credential. I spend a lot of time with kids now, I have found that I really like it, and I might as well get paid for it!! I would also like to keep the same schedule as the kids, the teen years will be around the corner, and I know all the tricks, and I want to be home to make sure my kids don't do at least half of what I did. I hope everyone is happy and healthy and doing well. Send me an e-mail......I am interested in hearing from everyone. Lori Keigley (Soon to be Rowe again!!)
