Lori's Story
Life
Graduated & went to work before I married Gary Clarke, class of '71 in '82. Did some part-time work, and then stayed home until our youngest left for K. From there I started working in the field of dentistry as an assistant, and then financial and treatment coordinator. I took a couple of classes and was tutored for sign language to be an interpreter, ended up enjoying my work, so I put that on hold and eventually gave that idea up. We have remained in B-town this entire time (I know, boring as heck, hey?), our parents are still here and Gary's been with Lynch Display for over 30 years. We do some traveling, but it's never been enough...life kind of gets in the way! Didn't decide what I wanted to be when I grew up until January 2006. I'm going to school for Graphic Design & I LOVE it. Wish I had pursued an education 30 yrs ago, a lot more fun (for me) than h.s. was. Proud to say I'm maintaining a 4.0, which just goes to show what's possible when you show up for class AND apply yourself. In the meantime, I'm financial administrator for an orthodontic laboratory, it helps with tuition and just life in general! Our sons are both students at UW-Madison. ate in construction management, one more year to go, and Corey (21) is a second year, poli-sci. They're awesome kids with awesome friends and we enjoy spending as much time as possible with them, especially up in Madison. Sometimes I feel like I'm living vicariously through them. They had great high school experiences and they've made faithful, loyal friends that will be with them, I'm sure, forever. My dream at this point is to move to Madison...State Street, walking trails, bike paths, culture, diversity...It's a great city! I'm the only one of my siblings who isn't a grandparent, which suits me just fine...I love, love, love little ones, but first things first! I've managed to stay in touch with a few classmates...and I sure have enjoyed the sustained and newly re-discovered friendships, (isnÂt it amazing how much we all change and what has become important at this stage of the game??? I want a do-over!)! Life has thrown us a few curveballs just like the rest of you, I'm sure, but all in all....it's all good! I feel very blessed...Thanks to medical miracles (bad experience with Cole, October '06), I have two healthy, successful sons, a successful, healthy and wonderful husband, good family ties and great friends!
