Lori's Story
Life
Graduated from SUNY PLattsburgh 1983 with a BS in Nursing and lured to NJ by Kenny who persistantly sent me many many "NJ and You Perfect Together" bumper stickers while I lived in NY. It worked! After graduation I moved to NJ and later we married. I worked for 17 years at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston as a staff nurse(most of them in the recovery room) FT then PT when kids small, then FT when they were a bit older. Worked 2 years as a certified school nurse while keeping per diem at SBMC,decide school nursing not for me. Worked for 6 years as a nurse educator for MCSS the nursing agency for the Saint Barnabas Health Care System. ed me to a FUN position with shorter commute.. yes, a 13 mile commute is considered "short" in NJ! I am the Nursing Lab Coordinator of County College of Morris. Will be married 20 years on 6/18/07 to Kenny. 2 beautiful sons: Chase,19y sophomore at Fairleigh Dickinson Uni. (on academic scholarship...lucky us!) , and Chad 17y who will finish Jr year in HS at the end of June '07, and a sweet step-daughter, Summer 26y gainfully employed and quite independent. My Mom and Dad moved off LI 20 years ago to Martinsburg WV(early retirement). Dad died 2000, Mom alive and well.
I intend to return to school Fall 07 to pursue Masters degree something I deferred for the rigors of work and motherhood! It's now or never! Most likely for Nursing EEducation to teach the profession I love so much.
