Lori's Story
D/W/F ~ Fourth generation, Southern California Girl. Livin the dream in South Orange County.
Well, it's 10 years later and I'm still a D/W/F. I'm enjoying my adventure. Fallen in love a few times and had my heart broken a few more. It's quite a journey, one I'm documenting for my book/movie. Seriously. I've gotten so good at detecting the "catfish/scammers" Ok Cupid has asked me to be an investigator. LOL
I'm working hard to adapt to this new life as a divorced mother of three at age 57. This is our year, right? 57 years old and born in 1957. As for my high school sweet heart and the divorce, well, we are finally able to be in the same place at the same time. I've learned to love my kids more than I dislike my ex. I continue to have no regrets....I appreciate what I do have....my three angels of love who have truly been the light of my life and so many supportive friends and family members who have helped me each and every day!
I'm working as a Supervisor now for Homeland Security where my team processes Immigrant Visas. I absolutely love my job and my team. I bought a nice condo when prices were very low and it is truly home sweet home. My kids are all grown and on their own. Darren is 29 moving from Boise to New Orleans next month; Danny 28 a Navy Submariner Veteran living near by and working at the Montag...Expand for more
e; and Sara Sue is 23 living in South Carolina working on her career. I miss them like crazy and they all suck at keeping in touch. I guess I was the same way when I was their age. Paybacks are no fun! No grandkids, no son/daughter-in-laws but they are all happy, healthy and safe and that's a mothers dream.
Life is good and I try to get in at least 1 good belly laugh a day! I absolutely love my IPOD...how did we ever live without them. Music is my passion along with a great glass of red wine and friends to share good times with, create new memories and reminise good times past.
I hope to see you all soon on September 26th, 2015 for our 40 year reunion. I just can't believe it's been 40 years since we were wandering the halls at Western, riding our bikes to the beach, attending football games, singing in the choir, going to every concert that was close enough to get to, playing our 8 track players loud and proud, planning our futures and wishing we were all grown up, "Wouldn't It Be Nice" (Beach Boys). Well, it is nice. Very Nice. We've done it and we can be proud. Lets get together and share our stories, some good, some bad, some happy and some sad in a safe place, back at home, with our WHS75 family where we grew up on the same streets in the same neighborhood during MUCH SIMPLER TIMES.
Hugs2u all,
Lori Sue
