Lori's Story
I married my best- friends ex boyfried,, and lived in Madison. I was lucky enough to be a stay-at-home mom to two adorable little hellions, Dustin born in 1984 and Derek, born in 1986. My husband, Lloyd worked for the Madison School District. Ten months after our daughter Devan was born, our oldest son, Dustin, passed away from brain cancer at the age of five. After our 4th child was born we bought a turn of the century house in Albany. Our children went through grade school there. I was involved with boy and girlscouts, PTO, and room mother. I was a historical Society member, a preschool teacher, a Sunday school teacher and sat on the Police Committee of the Albany Village Board. wood Middle and High Schools. All graduated with honors and went on to school. Derek went to UW Milwaukee, then received apprenticeship with H&H Heating and cooling. He helped build the St Mary's Hospital addition. Devan went on to UW Green Bay and she is now a teacher of 7th grade English Arts. Our youngest, Dylan, attends Michigan Tech College majoring in bio chem engineering. In 2007, just after his 21st birthday, Derek, hit a tree just onto Todd Dr off the beltline and passed immediately. I have been fortunate enough to be home with my children and to support them.In 2010 I married a kind, gentle farm boy from Monroe, WI. We live in a 134 year old schoolhouse, enjoying our empty nest. I can continue to pursue my painting, quilting and paper crafting My husband tinkers on cars. I'm enjoying the quiet, country life..
