Lorna's Story
Life
Since graduation I returned to New York in 1978 and pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Then I met my husband George who was in the Air Force and almost 3 years younger than me. We got married in September 1983. I went from Air Force brat to Air Force spouse and it has been great. I never did do anything with my degree except my own taxes and so on. I was a consultant/director with Mary Kay for several years until 1993 and decided to do something else. My last two jobs have been as Adminstrative Assitants and I have enjoyed them. My husband retired from the Air Force in April of 2000 and we have since moved back to New York and we are buying a house. We were never blessed with childern but while station in NC we adopted a 6 year old little boy and talk about "change of life", wow what a difference a 6 year old makes. And I love it, he is great. I thought I might update this some since it has been about 9 years since I wrote the above. I did the stay at home mom (really hate that title because I am finding out it is a full time job!!)thing until Kev was in 4th grade, although I subbed for the school district for a year and half as in many differenct position (not teaching). In 2003 when Kev went into 4th grade I was offered a full time sub position in a job that I subbed for and it turned into a permanent one. I have been there ever since. I love working in the school, I have all the breaks the kids have and just love that. For now, at least until he graduated it works out great.
Look forward to hearing from anyone from Santa Rita or any of the wonderful destinations that I have listed during my Air Force life (brat and otherwise).
