Lorna's Story
After graduation, I spent a year at IU and then started working in the "real world". Got married in '72 and had children in '75 (girl) and '80 (boy). Was able to be a stay at home mom for many years - did lots of volunteering at school & church. Went back to work full time and wound up as the Assistant Director at the Warren Performing Arts Center in Dec of '07. My husband of 34 years died from ALS just before Thanksgiving in '06 and it has been a strange journey of recovery for me. I am lucky to have a large extended family and many friends who have kept me busy when I needed to be and left me alone when I needed that. ee them! My daughter lives in LA and is engaged to Beverly Hills hair colorist. She has a band too (Wild Ginger Kitchen) and works as a Pilates instructor to make ends meet. Life sure is interesting. I have moved to a 2-story condo in Wellington Green. It seems odd to be back in Warren Township after living for so many years "north", but this was too good to pass up and I am thrilled that my drive to work will be only 2 miles. I work lots of hours some weeks, but mostly have pretty good control of how much I work in the summer - so it evens out. I find the work interesting & full of variety. Starting over is a weird thing - but full of opportunity. With my 90+ year old parents (they've been married for over 70 years) as examples - I look forward to the next 60 years with great anticipation!
