Lorri's Story
Lorri is from Pace, Florida. Her schools include Pace High School. She later attended Georgia State University (Chemistry, Biology). She works(ed) at Disabled.
Music Lorri likes includes Kings Of Leon, Cheap Trick, Bachman–Turner Overdrive, fun., The Beatles, Journey, Kansas, Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Midnight Oil, and any number of bands over the past 40 years.
After high school I went to PJC, got married in 1977, had a son in 1979, got divorced in 1982, moved to Atlanta, GA. Got remarried in 1983, and stayed that way. We've lived in Stone Mountain, Conyers, Monticello, Tallapoosa, and currently in Bremen, GA.
I went back to college in 1987, graduated in 1991 with a PhD in Microbiology. Worked in the computer field from 1980 to 1991, as a microbiologist from 1991 t...Expand for more
o 1996, then went back into computers and stayed there.
We moved to Monticello, GA in 1998 and I got to live my dream of owning a horse farm for 6 short years -- I bred Shires and Appaloosas. I had to sell my beautiful horses and sell our farm in 2004 after I was disabled -- no sense of balance is deadly around horses.
I was disabled in 2004 (bilateral vestibulopathy due to gentamicin ototoxicity -- I have no sense of balance), then in 2012 I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I've recently been approved for Enbrel, a biologic drug, to add to my current arsenal of methotrexate, Ultram, and Tylenol.
Now I work part-time from home, doing Tier 2 support for prepaid cell phones. It gives us a little extra money and keeps me from going insane from inactivity.
