Lorrie's Story
Since graduating from PV High in 1969, I've attended Grinnell College in Iowa, traveled for a year in Latin America, worked in East LA as a pre-school teacher, obtained a BA from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, lived in Seattle and worked as a freelance construction paralegal since 1976.
I've been married for 21 years to a guy from Torrance that I knew in high school. We have one child, a boy, currently attending The Ohio State University. My husband works at NBC and we live in La Canada.
I ran into our ASB Prez, Greg Redlitz, at a picnic for incoming Grinnell students a couple of summers ago. It was interesting to talk with him after so many years.
My other friend from PV High, Kate Waldo, only attended for one year and currently lives in Oregon and is an attorney.

ailable these days that she might have been able to cope with her problems. When I think of PV High, I think of her and the potential that she had but was unable to utilize. She was smart and funny and I think that she could have been a successful writer for Saturday Night Live.
I have mixed feelings about my experiences growing up in PV. I am grateful for the education I received, even if it was spotty at times, and for the opportunities I had such a attending speech tournaments (not an option at La Canada High) and playing on the tennis team (even if I never had any private lessons).
I didn't enjoy (and still don't) any type of social climbing. That was (is) the one aspect of PV that I didn't like. But, now that we're older, I'm sure that a lot of that type of behavior has moderated. I know that as I grow older many things that I once thought were important no longer seem so pressing. We're all in this boat together is the way I see it!
I will probably attend the reunion. My parents still live in the house that I grew up in near Valmonte school.
