Lorrie's Story
Life
I'm married to Dennis Judd (also from Prospect, class of 77) and we have 3 children. We live in the Santa Cruz mountains in the town of Ben Lomond and love it here. Dennis works for MBA of California a company that is owned by Toshiba and sells copiers, faxes, printers and laptops and is also a real estate agent. I have moved from the head bookkeeper to the head checker at our local Safeway in Felton. It's nice to be only 3 miles from work. I was tired of the commute to Palo Alto and then to Marina.
Our oldest daughter (22)Melissa and her husband Will are living in Orem, Ut going to school and working. They are expecting their first child on March 26th. Our middle daughter (20)Amanda, is going to school (LDS Business College) in Salt Lake City, UT. Our youngest son (16) Jeffrey is a Junior at San Lorenzo Valley High School in Felton and is working part-time and is working on finding a project to earn his Eagle Scout Award.
We keep pretty busy with work, school, church and family life. We own 3 hunting dogs and Dennis tries to hunt as much as he can. He doesn't get out as much as he would like to though.
We look forward to hearing from those of you we went to school with and hear how you are doing. Give us a holler.
11/9/07 - update
Well, it's almost the end of the year. Were has the time gone? We are still as busy as ever. It seems like we are never home.
1st off, we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary in September by going to Disneyland and California Adventure. The day I went back to work, I had no voice. It was pretty much gone for about 4 days. I guess too much screaming on the rides. It was pretty hard talking to customers and talking over the intercom. When we got back, Dennis changed companies. He is still selling copiers, fax machines and printers. He's back to work for the same people he's sold for before, just a different company name. The Company name is KBA. He's had a little more time for hunting and has enjoyed it.
I will be starting a semi-new position at work. I will be the front end manager. This means I will be in charge of the checkers and courtesy clerks and making sure all runs well and customers get out in a timely fashion.
Our son, Jeff has found a project to complete for his Eagle Scout project. He will be designing and building a arch way for the entrance to our new all weather track at the High...Expand for more
School. This is his Senior year( I can't believe by baby is almost out of high school) and wanted to give back to the school. We will be working on this project withing the next few months as he turns 18 yrs the middle of march.
We will have Amanda home for Thanksgiving and then Melissa and her family home for Christmas. We can't wait to see our Grand baby, Rachel. She is getting so big and seems to be getting cuter by the week. See the attached pictures. Melissa and Will would like to move their family here to California. Will is hoping to do some job interviewing while they are out here for Christmas. He's an IT guy, if anyone is looking for one. This means they would probably live with us for awhile, but it just means more of Rachel to watch and grow up.
We are looking at moving to Oregon in a couple of years. If so, Melissa and Will said they would like to go that direction also. I can transfer my job and Dennis can continue doing his real estate and get out of copiers.
Well, if you're ever in the Santa Cruz area, look us up and give us a call. We will try and fit you into our schedule.
July 10, 2008 - Update
Well, My baby finally graduated from High School. He also got his Driver's License yesterday. We said grades first and he didn't want to pay for driving school, so he figured after school was out he's get his license. Now he's working at Jamba Juice in Scotts Valley and is learning to shoe horses on the side. He did pretty good shoeing his first horse last week. He will be working and going to community college for awhile until he decides on what he really wants to do. Amanda is still attending LDS Business college in Salt Lake City, Utah is working at Rite-Aid there. She is dating a young man named Tyler. We will see where they goes. We will meet him in December when we go out there for Christmas and she will meet his parents at Thanksgiving in Colorado. Melissa and Will purchased a larger home (3 bdrm 3 bath) in April before our family vacation. They are turning the unfinished basement into Melissa hair salon so she can continue to work from home and take care of Rachel and Cordell(my nephew's baby). It's like taking care of twins since they are only 2 months apart. Rachel starting walking on the 4th of July, yeah!!
Well, I can't wait to see everyone at the reunion. I'm busy getting the name tags ready. See ya in a few weeks.
