Lou's Story
Life
After graduation; I went to Oakland JC briefly (til midterms) and then enlisted in the Army Airborne for 3 years. I took Basic at Ft.Carson, Colo. Artillery training (I now wear hearing aids courtesy of VA) and Jump School at Ft. Bragg, NC. Spent a total of 2 years in the Southern Germany cities of Munich and Augsburg. After discharge I worked as a Lab Tech for Aerojet General, at various other jobs while attending Sacramento State and became an Elementary School Teacher in 1964. I Married Pat in 1964 and we have lived in Davis, CA since then. Changed careers to Real Estate Sales in 1980, became a Real Estate Appraiser in 1993 and retired in 2008.
We have 2 children, Christine and Richard. Chris is married and lives in Los Gatos and has 2 boys. Ri...Expand for more
ch is married, has a girl and a boy and works for the State in the Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers, the State Appraiser Licensing body. My wife Pat is fully retired from Elementary School teaching and loving it.
Since 2008 I have been a California State Capitol Museum Volunteer tour guide in Sacramento. I usually work a couple of days a week and enjoy telling people about the Capitol and California .
I have enjoyed going to the Multiclass Picnics in Pleasanton, our own Jan '55 reunions and those of June '55 and '56. There is a group of Jan '55 people who have been getting together once or twice a year for regional travel adventures. It's been fun seeing everyone, (although I usually don't hang around with people that old)
