Louise's Story
I've been thinking about my days at Cubberley and realize I don't remember too much about the 'good old days' nor do I remember names and faces that much. I do remember I had a lot of fun, was busy, did lots of things and had good friends. Then we graduated and went our separate ways...
I think as I "age", I wonder more about what happened to 'old' friends and how they are doing. I've made a few connections on Classmates so it has been interesting. I like to read people's stories and see how some have connected with old friends and how successful some people have been (and still are) in their lives/careers.
After a year at Foothill, I went to SF State University, got married (but not a keeper) and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada in 1969. I went back to SF State in 1977 and finished my degree (PE and History) and returned to Vancouver where I've lived eve...Expand for more
r since.
I used to visit my parents quite regularly when they were still alive, but I don't get 'home' much anymore except to visit an elementary school friend from San Francisco and some family who live in California.
I have one daughter who also lives in Vancouver and one granddaughter (almost 19yrs old) and one grandson (16yrs old) who lives with me. I've had a number of interesting jobs but worked for the City of Vancouver for 30+ years . I never thought I would have ended up as and Engineering Assistant doing reviews for major developments throughout the City, but... The very good thing now is ...I'm retired and can do what I want...err...not really. My grandson is really into hockey, so there I go!
Getting older has made me think about the line in Forrest Gump..."Life is like a box of chocolates; you never know what you're goin' to get"...or something like that!
