Luan's Story
My family moved to Orlando in my junior year at Central High so I missed out on prom and graduation with all my friends. From graduation in Orlando, I attended Daytona Beach Community College for two years and another two years at Valencia Community College in Orlando. I moved back to Ft. Pierce in 1984 and worked for attorneys downtown, Tom Perona Oldsmobile & sold Mark Kay Cosmetics. I moved to Atlanta, GA with Karen Handkins until 1990 when I moved to the South Florida Everglades and married a citrus grove manager with United States Sugar Company. 84) We have two girls 11 yrs & 14 yrs and still live in Clewiston, FL. I started a real estate company 9 yrs ago (Sugar Realty, "the sweetest deal in town") My husband 4 years ago quit his job and works as my partner in this small rural farming town on the SW edge of Lake Okeechobee. We each have our own truck and boat, his being blue ocean and mine a Ranger bass. I am back at Palm Beach Community College still working toward a Bachelor's degree. At the age of 49 yrs, should finally be eligible for the University. I have a wonderful business and family. Life is sweet here in South Florida!!
