Lucero Warnier Levy:  

I arrived in Billings from Cali, Colombia, in the summer of 1963. I had the privilege of being awarded a scholarship to study my senior year in the United States through American Field Service, a foreign exchange student placement organization. During my school year at Billings West High School, I had the distinct pleasure of making endearing friendships. I lived in the lovely home of Shirley, of blessed memory, and Cal Williamson, who opened their home and hearts with much warmth, generosity and hospitality. I can never thank them enough for their affection and care; and same goes for their daughters Karen and Peggy. After graduating from BWHS, I returned to Cali and continued my education. I attended business school and worked at Corn Products International in Cali and Bogota. In 1971, I decided to return to the United States and moved to New York City. I attended New York University and worked in the Administrative Offices of the Development and Communications Departments of New York University Medical Center. It was in New York where I met Jacob Levy, born in Aleppo, Syria, who as a toddler emigrated with his parents to Colombia. Coincidentally, our families lived in Cali just a few blocks from each other, and serendipity worked its way for Jacob and I to meet in New York instead.
