Lucille's Story

After I graduated from El Rancho, I went on to college. I went to school in Southern California and finished going to school in San Francisco. I was married for 12 years, had two children and was divorced. As a single parent, attended (years later) UCI and went to law school for two years. During this time I met John, my husband of almost 25 years, and moved to the east. We lived near Baltimore, Maryland for nearly 18 years and then moved to Pennsylvania. I worked in a law office when I lived in Huntington Harbour, and when I moved east, I worked in real estate and began my own business. I am now retired. John is a structural engineer for a firm in Baltimore. He can retire, but chooses to work a little longer. John and I travel a lot. We have been all over the east coast and are interested in History, specifically the Civil and Revolutionary Wars. John went to college here in Pennsylvania and we are avid Penn State fans. We go to as many football games as possible. We were glad to miss homecoming this year because they had a foot of snow on the ground and traveling to get there would have been tedious. game in our family room with the fireplace on, nice and toasty. I do a lot of decorative stitching such as needlepoint and cross-stitch, hardanger and other mediums. I belong to many stitching groups including the Embroiders' Guild. I enter my work in various needle arts exhibitions such as the one they have at Woodlawn Plantation near Mount Vernon, Virginia. I have three grandchildren, Kevin, Jr., Chase and Blake. They are great kids and we are all very close. My daughter is in the process of getting her masters in bio-psychology. My son in law has a business refurbishing Porche's. My son Craig lives in Oakland, California and works in San Francisco. He graduated from Berkeley with high honors and holds a very demanding job, but I see him often during the year. He is dating a very nice woman who works for Sunset Magazine. They recently took a 10 day trip to New Zeland and the South Pacific. They travel together a lot and that also keeps him very busy. My sister is working as a lecturer at the University of California at Long Beach and my never retire! :-) She is even busier than I am and doing very well.
