Lucrecia's Story
Hi everyone, it is nice to hear about Valley again. I moved to Arizona (Yuma county)about four years ago. It is a small city called San Luis, where everyone knows everyone and you can sleep with your doors open. In almost every store or restaurant you can pay with pesos (mexican money). About 3 years ago there was a big scandal because in Huntington park a famous pizza restaurant was accepting pesos. Well, to my understanding pesos have been accepted over here since always. It is nice because when I go across the border and if I have mexican money left I can use it here in the U.S.A. I am five minutes away from Mexico (San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora)and 30 minutes away from Mexicali, which is a very big city with freeways and everything. I feel as if I live in Mexico! h special education kids and this incredible job has changed my vision in life. It is a very rewarding job. I am also learning sign language and I am teaching my daughter also. It comes in handy, I do not have to scream across the room, I just sign. I have worked with an autistic 14 year old girl for two years now . She is a very important part of my life, she has taught me so much. She is going into high school next year. Before I could not understand why I had moved over here but now I know. I used to appreciate everything I had but now I am truly grateful with GOD. I have a healthy, beautiful girl that means the world to me. She is the joy of my life!
I miss California like crazy. I hope I will move back soon. I do like it here in Arizona, that is what makes it hard to move back. . May GOD Bless You, take care and I hope you are doing well in life.
Love, Lukky
