Lyda's Story
Life
i moved around quite a bit. i married the first time in 78 and had my daughter in dec of 79 and was separated by aug. the following year. i again moved around and ended up living in Jamul,Ca. from there i moved up to L.A. i remarried and had two more children (sons) after 10 years i ended up divorced for a second time, shortly there after i had gotten my commercial driver's license, worked alot of part time jobs until summer of 96 when i finally got the nerve to start driving over the road and running all 48 states. i've logged over a million miles with no accidents that i caused, although i've been hit twice by cars, what a trip!luckily for all involved noone was hurt and i wasn't even late with my loads. i became a grandmother in 2001 and now injoy the company of my granddaughter who just turned 3 in sept. i've spent the last 15 months on workman's comp. due to a nasty fall that i took off the back of my rig, while i was in north carolina, it really did a number on my neck and back. so far what the state has done hasn't been alot, so here i sit and wait to see what is next, such is life in the high desert. i hope that all those that i've known in the past are doing well and if they recognize my name contact me before i get too feeble minded, as we all know how old we are and w...Expand for more

College
i took some classes over at cerritos college, and realized that it wasn't for me. i did go to trade school in aug of 92 after i separated from my husband. i earned my commercial driver's license from dootson school of trucking in arcadia, ca. and am getting ready to try and find another trade school to attend and be retrained as i am no longer able to drive because of injuries i received while working for my current company. it's real hard to start over at 44 but i will. i'm not sure if it'll be in the medical field or some kind of teaching. i actually would like to work as a heavy machine operator but i don't think my body will hold up to that heavy kind of work any more. i guess we'll see. i'll keep you all posted as to my progress. happy holidays and be safe where ever you may roam. Workplace
i've worked so many different jobs mostly in restuarants. i will say that the two most interesting jobs i've had were as follows: i used to wash big rigs with a mobil wash company, and then later down the time line i decided that driving them would be easyier than washing them. it's still a toss up as to which is harder to do.
Military
i have never been in the military. i should have joined . such is life.
