Lyle's Story
I retired in l993, and I have not worked since. I have done some volunteer tutoring for the SAT's. I read to the elderly in a nursing home. I am happy to advise people who seek my advise.
My last job as superintendent ended with a heart attack. So, I spent my last three years before retirement teaching, English, French, and independent study German. I strongly opposed teaching French in High School in California. French still has that penumbra of sophistication, and 'savoir faire'. Of course, my colleagues in the foreign language department were wedded to the status quo.
I tendered my resignation, and have not ...Expand for more
spoken a word of French since November 1, 1993.
I have seven children, the youngest is twenty-seven, the eldest is forty-six. They are all doing well, and are self-supporting. I have eleven grandchildren.
I have been spending the time since Prop 8 passed working hard to overthrow that abomination. It seems passing strange to me that people still think that they have the moral right to substitute their jejeune prejudices for to prevent consenting adults from marrying each other. Marriage is a right, not a privilege. Certainly, one part of the population may not strip another part of the population of this right.
