Lyle's Story

Just signed up on here. 2015 I was the kid that moved to Milwaukee from Minnesota and started Tech as a Junior. Some of you knew I worked for the US Forest Service while I was at Tech. What none of you knew was I was living on my own before senior year. After graduation I got on full time with them as an engineering tech. Stayed in that job until 1974 when I transferred to a job as a Cartographer. Transferred to the national mapping center in Utah in 1976. Then tranfered to Alaska in 1980 as lead cartographer over special mapping. in 1989 was promoted to Automated Cartography system manager and technical development...Expand for more
specialist for the Alaska Region Was awarded the US Government civilian meritorious service award 6 times. Worked for the US Forest Service for 38 years, retired in 2007 and moved to New Zealand where I volunteer at a suicide prevention hot line. I have 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Hobbies are mountain hiking, rock climbing, exploring and understanding what we see in the natural world. I don't have a bucket list as I have taken advantage off opportunities as they have come along. My job took me all over the US. I have explored 20 US states and visited 25 others along with 5 Canadian provinces.
