Lyn's Story
I'm a Great-grandmother, like many of my classmates, and that is really fun.
I have written a book about my Walk Across America. The book is "Putting a Face on America" and can be seen at my website: hanush.com
So far I've walked from Tijuana to Blaine, Washington (1983); Blaine, Washington to Key West, Florida (2003-2004); and Ormond Beach, Florida to Madawaska, Maine(2008).
My purpose in walking is to pray for our nation - for individuals I meet, for communities I walk through, and for our military, and our country's leaders.
I am also a speaker - sharing via power point about my various walks. The many pictures taken on the walks have helped me put together a variety of presentations. Types of places I've spoken include all sizes of church groups, service clubs, public schools, private schools, and homeschool groups.
Looking forward to the Reunion in 2009.

Life
I am an avid walker and prayer warrior. In 2004 I completed a 4,026.5 MILE walk across America praying for our nation and our service men and women. We left Blaine Washington (at the USA-Canada Peace Arch) on May 12, 2003 and walked for 14 1/2 months thruough 15 states. We ...Expand for more
finished on July 23, 2004 at Key West Florida, the southernmost point in the continental USA.
My book about the walk, "Putting a Face on America" was released in March, 2007.
I've been married for 49 years, have four children, seven grandchildren, and four greatgrandchildren.
Besides my walk across America, in 1983 I walked the California coast from Tijuana to Brookings Oregon. Then in 1993 I walked from Brookings Oregon to Blaine Washington, which is where we then started our Great American Journey.
In the spring and summer of 2007 I did a book tour promoting my book along the same route we walked in 2003 and 2004 (driving it this time).
Then in 2008 I did another long distance walk. We started at Ormond Beach Florida (the point where we first reached the Atlantic Ocean on our Great American Journey) March 6. Our journey took us up the eastern USA coast to the northern most point in Maine. We finished October 18, 2008.
My husband is very active in family history and genealogy research. That has taken us to the Czech Republic three times so far. We really love the Czech Republic and Europe. We are hoping to return again in 2010, so I am trying to learn the Czech language.
