Lyn's Story
Life
I live in Oregon now. I've been here since 1980. California had the weather but Oregon has the Beauty and Peace. What a place to raise my too boys. I'm in paradise. Living in the country, I raised miniature horses, pot bellied pigs, chickens, sheep, rabits and miniature donkeys. It was great fun. Now that I am retired I have only dogs. It is much easier.
I have two grown sons. One is a Registered Nurse after serving 4 years in the Marines. The other still trying to find the meaning of life.
I am retired now and enjoy frequent fishing trips and gardening.
School
School was a kick. Quite different that school is nowadays. Remember the floods when it rained? I'll never forget when I was a freshman, tromping through the water with my books and shoes in hand. I was wearing one of these cordoroy ...Expand for more
wrap-around skirts. Just as I was passing a group of the football jocks my skirt fell off into the water. My books and shoes soon followed. I never did live that down.
My favorite teacher was Mr. Uranick. He actually made me enjoy history. And there was the day I returned from lunch at Euclid Park where I had my first Orange filled with Vodka. I was on cloud nine and got the giggles in the middle of history class. In stead of sending me to the office he made me go to the back of the class and sleep it off. Anyone remember that??
College
No college for me. I started work at an insurance company and worked my way up into management. It's been a good career. I did take some college courses that were specific to my job and received several insurance designations. CPCU, etc. Hard to do that these days.
