Michael's Story
Life
I'm taking every opportunity to excell right now. I've been in a relationship for over three years now with a girl I met at a college frat party, believe it or not. We're happy as clams but I'm training half way across the country and will be stationed in KS for the next 3 years so that kinda makes things a little harder. After that, it's Arizona for MI training, California for language school, then wherever the job takes me.
School
Highschool was a blast for only knowing everyone for two years before graduation. I have lots of memories of all the good times in Marching Band, Soccer games, and Spanish class (presentations). It lways takes me back to pop some 311 or Sublime into the CD player. Last time I did a drive-by I hardly recognized the school since it's 6 times the size we left it. But we remember when it was only AA with Gwinnett County's largest trailer park, instead of the AAAAA, four-floor'd monster it is today. I saw a few of you around at Wild Wing Karaoke nights in Swannee before I left and actually had the opportunity to meet up with a few of the truly treasured ones.
I wish you all the best in everything you take on ...Expand for more

College
I received a bachelors degree in spanish and had the opportunity to study in Spain for a summer. I also learned french in the last two years of school, because after spanish it came with ease. I kept up with music as much as I could, mostly singing in the men's military choral ensemble. I enlisted in the ARMY Reserves in May, 2001 and took a year off of school for training but returned mentally and physically charged. I was active in the Corps of Cadets and all that it entails and finally received a commission from the ARMY as a 2nd LT upon graduation. Oh yeah, and I had a house with my two best buddies, so don't think it was all work and no play...
Military
I am an ARMY officer branched Field Artillery and I will be a Platoon Leader at Ft. Riley, KS in the 1st ID. I am rated a class-IV linguist in the ARMY and in three years I will change to Military Intelligence where I will work in language/linguistics and learn two more languages (Arabic, Chinese) at the Defense Language Institute in Monteray, CA. From there I will be working in joint operations with the CIA specializing in foreign intelligence and national security.
