Lynda's Story

Life It's been a long time since High School and as I am sure for everyone, a lot has happened. Trying to condense all these years are going to be hard, but I will try. As most of you know, I married Mark Moersen, after graduating early. We had our beautiful Tricia and the three of us headed south to Georgia. We lasted just shy of 3 years, but college is a strong pull for a young man and being married didn't fit, so we have parented Tricia together, long distance, and she is as remarkable as they come. She followed her Dad and graduated Georgia Tech herself in 1995. She married her college sweetheart, even though he went to the enemy school and he finished Dental School, allowing Tricia to take a break from Engineering and is busy raising her three boys. My grandsons, Tyler, 6, Tanner 5 and Trip, almost 1. Her wedding picture shows it all. Little Tricia grew up as perfect as you could hope for! Now, with Amanda preparing for college and no "kids" left for the first time in 34 yrs. I have taken to raising someone else's babies. Angel was my first (picture attached)and she was followed by Skittles(picture attached). Skittles has blessed us with three litters so far. We kept two, so far and are having the time of our life with Otis and Miracle(pic attached). Miracle is so named because when she was 3 days old, she got her neck wrapped in a hanging loop of thread inside their tapestry bed and strangled herself to death. I had been an EMT myself for 9 years, while working as an Assistant Bank Manager and could not bear to let her go without giving at least a reasonable effort to revive her. Trust me, I know dead. But I started CPR, est. time down had been max, 30 minutes. I was crying and praying and breathing all at the same time, while performing chest compressions. During the next 45 minutes, everyone said good-bye to her and held her, then return her to me where I would again start the CPR, just not willing to believe she could die after 3 days of p...Expand for more
erfect health. Then, all of a sudden I saw her tail (they are born with long tails)curl up between her legs. I thought it was just a nerve reaction from my chest compressions but I started the rescue breathing in earnest and all of a sudden her head and shoulders rolled up to her chest. Now, her mouth had been blue and stuck wide open when we found her and her tongue had been blue and stuck to her lips, so I loosened her tongue and continued the rescue breathing. Her head started rolling up more and more, even though her mouth had never changed. I called the vet. They said to bring her in, they couldn't say over the phone but I was probably right that it was just a nerve/ morbidity sign. After rushing her to the vet, they came out 1/2 hour later and said that she was, in fact, alive and doing well, except they couldn't figure out why her body temp was only 60 when it should be 102. Simple. She died and now she lived. Hence, Miracle. And you never give a miracle away. So, now I have two breeding females and Aunt Angel to keep Otis(Picture Attached) in line with the others. It is so much fun and so rewarding. In 1995, I was blessed to work in my dream job as an Office Nurse, until damage from a fall at the Bank, where I was Assistant Manager, caused broken vertebra and damage from my neck to my feet, following two surgeries and bone grafts. But I can walk, just not to far. My sister, Wendy is still in New Milford. She was diagnosed with MS a few years ago but is doing well keeping it from progressing to far with med's and therapy. She has finally starting believing in her art work and is diving in head first. If you are in the area, look for her first art show soon. She is still as beautiful as she was in high school and still sings with a voice clearly given by God. Ricky became a teacher/principle for most of his adult life in all levels, before retiring last year. He' in Missouri and still my favorite brother. His wife Suzie is still teaching
